Hi,
The exact formulation of our common mission(s) and vision(s) is not something that should be done by one person only.
Nevertheless, to give an impression of what we could talk about, the following ideas & questions...
How to approach Food Law?
Strictly from a legal point of view, or from a users perspective (e.g. consumers and companies)? Only an academic debate, or should we focus on pragmatism, or even casual exchange of opinions?
What is Food Law? The European Union has a clear framework of legislation regulating food safety, consumer protection, equity in trade, topics that are more or less a reflection or a result of international forums (e.g. WTO and FAO). However should this confine our debate? What about 'rights'? Should we explain law also as a framework that conveys rights for people, for example the availability of adequate food (referring to the symposium that marks the origin of our gathering).
International Students and International Law?
Obviously the student population in Wageningen has already an international character. Nonetheless, food law is not - should not - be a Wageningen issue only, or an European issue for that matter. International law, strongly suggests that the topics discussed here are all related to supranational agreements forming the context of "law". However, as important it is to have an international population it is equally important to make room for regional or local topics in a forum that deals with global issues. So, to my opinion, 'international' should be interpreted as an ivitation to all, not as a boundary for content.

Thank You
